Veneers Q & A

What are veneers?

Veneers are thin shells that look like better versions of your natural teeth. They’re bonded on top of your existing teeth to enhance the appearance of your smile by improving cosmetic imperfections, such as:

  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Stains
  • Worn or dull appearance
  • Crooked teeth
  • Gaps between teeth

Veneers can also be used to reinforce teeth that have been weakened from damage.

Why should I get veneers?

Veneers can fix a wide range of dental flaws while maintaining the natural appearance of your teeth. Some benefits of veneers include:

  • Cleaned just like your natural teeth, with no special hygienic tools
  • Stain-resistant
  • A simple way to enhance your smile
  • Not irritating to your gums
  • Comfortable and natural-feeling

Veneers are also minimally invasive compared to other restoration procedures making them attractive to patients who are looking to reduce time in the dental chair.

What is the process of getting veneers?

Dr. Miller can have you smiling confidently with your veneers in just a few office visits.

During your first visit, Dr. Miller discusses your options, asks any questions you might have, and designs your perfect smile. Dr. Miller uses a shade guide to help you pick out a color for your veneers that best matches your skin tone.

When you come in for your second visit, Dr. Miller removes a thin layer of enamel from your teeth to make room for the veneers. He then takes an impression of your teeth and sends it off to a lab, where your veneers are designed to fit comfortably in your mouth and blend in with the rest of your teeth.

Once your veneers are ready (usually one to two weeks), you come back to the office so Dr. Miller can place them. He cleans your teeth, polishes the veneers, and then places them one-by-one on your teeth, trimming or buffing anything along the way so they seamlessly blend in with your natural teeth. Once they’re on, he bonds each one with special dental cement, leaving you with a beautiful, long-lasting smile.

Don’t wait any longer to have a smile that you’re proud of. Get your veneers today by calling the offices of Eric D. Miller, DDS, or booking online.
